Youtube Best Practices
Are you shy about getting in front of the camera like me? When creating video, there are a few things to consider that can keep you in alignment while being in front of the camera. Keep these in mind and you wont have a problem talking to the lens.
Engage with Your Audience. Post videos encouraging comments and discussion. Try to respond to every comment you receive.
Promote on Other Social Channels. Cross-promote content on different channels is highly important. If you are using a channel such as Facebook where you post videos directly, you can always make it a teaser for the full-length video on YouTube so that you have optimum engagement on all channels.
Make Great Thumbnails. Thumbnails can have a big impact especially when YouTube promotes your videos for you in the sidebar. A thumbnail can set you apart from other content that is appearing in that same section.
Use YouTube Cards. By adding YouTube cards, you can add additional recommended videos or a link of what you want your audience to view next keeping them on your account (YouTube rewards channels with longer viewing times).
Push Subscriptions. Ask viewers to subscribe to your channel in each video that you upload, and keep engaged with your existing subscribed users.
Increase Your Uploading Frequency. Try to post at the same time each day or week (depending on your frequency), and keep your subscribers updated on when new videos will arrive. Stick to a schedule.
